Leaving Rome we traveled to Assisi. Both St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare, founder of the Poor Clares were born here and each is buried in his/her own church. They knew each other during their lifetimes and were friends. Assisi is a quaint little town with wonderful narrow streets. Both churches are very old and contain priceless paintings.

After a brief stop at Assisi we traveled through the beautiful Tuscan countryside toward Florence. Just outside Florence we enjoyed a dinner with music and dancing.
