South Island

We crossed Marlboro sound from Wellington to Picton on the South Island. From there we continued down the western coast and turned east to Queenstown. Along the way we stopped to visit some glaciers that travel from 12,000 foot mountains all the way to the sea.

From Queenstown we took a tour bus to Milford Sound and a boat trip in the fiord.

Continuing on we visited Arrowtown a former mining center, Dunedin where we observed albatross and their chicks, and on to Christ Church and Akaroa.
