Coeur d'Alene

Today was a day of relaxation and a day we spent with our friend Joe and his family. He was a coworker of ours at Next Level Communications. He and his family moved to Post Falls, ID about 15 months ago.

We showed up on Joe’s doorstep a little after 10:00 this morning. We got to meet Joe’s wife Sue and their daughter Amber. After some tea and a tour of Joe’s shop area, we all piled in the car and went to Coeur d’Alene, which is a cute little town on Lake Coeur d’Alene about 10 miles from Joe’s house. We walked along the beach, on the docks, and then through the town. We got a few photos and a panorama from the lakefront area and even saw some para sailing. Of course the best part was just being with friends and hanging out.

We ended the evening with a great dinner at a local Chinese restaurant. Yes, it really was good Chinese food in Idaho!

Since we only drove a few miles today, there are no gas mileage statistics to report. We did see two Prii today. The first was a white one that we saw on our way to Joe’s. The second was a Seaside Pearl (blue) one that was parked in the street about two blocks from Joe’s house.

Tomorrow we head for Yellowstone. We will likely stop in Big Sky, MT, which is located about 45 miles outside the west park entrance. Most of the hotels in West Yellowstone appear to be booked already.

Enjoy Yellowstone!  I was just in Grand Teton National Park last weekend.  I hope you make it there, too.
